The M.A. FORD. 22943310 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. Built to DIN 6537L standards, it features a 150-degree split point angle for accurate entry and reduced walking, a three-flute parabolic geometry for efficient chip evacuation, and a web-thinned tapered web for lower thrust requirements. The bright uncoated finish suits applications where coating is unnecessary or undesirable. At 0.41 pounds, this bit is sized for use in CNC machining centers and precision drill presses where rigidity and repeatability matter.
This drill bit is suited for machining non-ferrous metals including aluminum, copper, brass, and similar materials designated under workpiece material code N and O. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper cuts within its 56 mm maximum drilling depth. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 12 mm shank diameter seats securely in standard chucks and collet holders. It is a strong fit for production environments running high spindle speeds with or without coolant, since this model does not include through-coolant capability.
Designed for use in non-ferrous metal applications (workpiece material codes N and O) per DIN 6537L specification. Fits standard straight-bore chucks and collet systems accepting a 12 mm cylindrical shank. Part of M.A. FORD. Series 229, covering the 10.00 mm to 12.50 mm diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the chuck or collet before running the spindle — carbide is brittle and susceptible to breakage from lateral shock or improper clamping. Power down and de-energize the machine completely before changing tooling. Do not use this bit in ferrous materials or interrupted cuts outside its rated application, as carbide can chip under impact loads not suited to its geometry.
