The M.A. FORD. 22931890 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. Built to DIN 6537L standards, it features a 150-degree drill point angle and a parabolic flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The bright, uncoated carbide construction delivers hardness and wear resistance suitable for production environments. With a 3-flute design and web-thinned, tapered web configuration, this bit starts cleanly and runs true. It is sized at 8.1 mm in diameter with an overall length of 103 mm, making it a direct fit for standard jobber-length applications.
This drill bit is intended for use on non-ferrous metals, including aluminum, copper, brass, and similar materials classified under material code N and O. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and maximum drilling depth of 49 mm make it well suited for through-hole and moderate-depth drilling operations in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling setups. The straight-cylindrical shank seats in standard chucks and collets without modification. It is used by machinists and tooling professionals in both shop and production line environments.
Designed for drilling non-ferrous metals including primary workpiece material codes N and O. Fits standard straight-cylindrical collets and drill chucks accepting a 10 mm shank diameter. Sized per DIN 6537L and suitable for applications within the 8.00 mm to 9.00 mm drill bit size range.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a properly sized collet or keyless chuck before operation, and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance before cutting. Carbide tooling is brittle and should never be used at feed rates or speeds outside the manufacturer-recommended range for the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use and replace the bit if damage is found.
