The M.A. FORD. 22914170 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit engineered for precision drilling in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. It features a 3.6 mm diameter, a 150-degree drill point angle, and a parabolic, web-thinned flute design that improves chip evacuation and reduces cutting force. The overall length is 66 mm, with a flute length of 28 mm and a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 6 mm in diameter. Manufactured to DIN 6537 L specification and produced under ISO 9001:2015 certified conditions, this bit is suited for machinists and tool-and-die professionals running CNC or manual drill press operations where hole quality and dimensional accuracy are critical.
This drill bit is designed for use in non-ferrous metal applications, including aluminum, copper, brass, and similar materials classified under workpiece material code N and O. Its 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration make it appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole operations requiring consistent performance at moderate drilling depths. With a maximum drilling depth of 23 mm, it fits standard jobber-length tooling setups in both production and maintenance machining environments.
Designed for use with CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines equipped with standard collet or chuck systems accepting a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials per DIN 6537 L classification.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Power down and de-energize the machine before inserting or removing the bit from the spindle. Carbide tooling is brittle and should not be subjected to side loads, interrupted cuts beyond designed parameters, or impact during handling. Verify spindle runout and collet condition before use to protect the cutting edge and maintain hole tolerance.
