The M.A. FORD. 22615750 is a screw machine length (stub-length) solid carbide drill bit designed for high-precision hole-making in demanding materials. With a 0.1575 inch (4.00 mm) diameter and a 118-degree faceted drill point, it delivers clean entry geometry in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and carbon steel. The bright, uncoated finish suits applications where coating compatibility with cutting fluid or the workpiece material is a priority. This bit is sized and built for use in machining centers, CNC drill presses, and screw machine setups where stub-length rigidity reduces deflection and improves hole accuracy.
This drill bit is suited for production machining environments where short-flute, high-rigidity tooling is required. Typical applications include drilling pilot holes, through-holes, and precision bores in cast iron components, stainless steel fittings, non-ferrous billets, and structural steel stock. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and web-thinned, parallel web construction support efficient chip evacuation in shallow-to-moderate depth drilling. It is appropriate for use in machine shops, industrial maintenance operations, and precision fabrication settings.
Designed as a screw machine length carbide drill bit per DIN 6539, compatible with cast iron, non-ferrous metal, stainless steel, and steel workpieces. Fits standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.1575 inch (4.00 mm) shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine fully powered down and locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a collet or drill chuck rated for the intended spindle speed before operation. Do not use this bit for coolant-through applications as it is not designed for internal coolant delivery. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide tooling is brittle and can fail without visible warning if mishandled or dropped.
