The M.A. FORD 22425190 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for precision drilling in steel, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. It measures 6.40 mm (0.2519 inches) in diameter with a 118-degree facet point angle and a bright, uncoated finish. Overall length is 101.00 mm (3.9764 inches), with a flute length of 63.00 mm (2.4803 inches). The straight shank measures 6.4 mm (0.4375 inches) in diameter. Solid carbide construction provides the hardness and rigidity needed for consistent hole quality in demanding production and maintenance applications. This bit is sold individually.
The 22425190 is suited for general-purpose drilling in machine shop, fabrication, and maintenance environments. Its regular spiral flute geometry handles a broad range of workpiece materials including mild and alloy steels, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals. The web-thinned, tapered web design reduces thrust load at the cutting edge. Maximum drilling depth is 2.9375 inches. This bit is a right-hand cut tool intended for use in standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and handheld power tools where a straight-shank carbide drill is appropriate.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or production drill bit for applications requiring a 6.40 mm (0.2519 inch) straight-shank carbide jobber drill conforming to DIN 338. Primary workpiece material codes K, M, N, and P cover steel, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. Coolant-through capability is not supported on this bit.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a standard drill press, CNC spindle, or hand drill with an appropriate collet or chuck rated for the 6.4 mm shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and power is isolated before changing tooling. Solid carbide bits are brittle relative to high-speed steel; avoid lateral loading, interrupted cuts at excessive feed rates, or dropping the tool on hard surfaces. Use appropriate cutting fluid or dry cutting as dictated by the workpiece material and machine setup.
