The M.A. FORD. 22412200 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding production and toolroom applications. It features a 0.1220-inch diameter with a 118-degree faceted point and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation at entry. The bright/uncoated carbide construction provides a hard, slick cutting surface suited to non-ferrous metals, plastics, composites, and other materials where coating buildup is a concern. Machinists, toolmakers, and CNC operators are the primary users of this drill.
This drill bit is sized for small-diameter work in the 0.1000 to 0.1500-inch decimal range and conforms to DIN 338 specification. It is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills where tight-tolerance, repeatable hole quality is required. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard drill chucks and collet systems without modification. Typical applications include component drilling in metalworking shops, electronics fabrication, and precision manufacturing environments.
Designed as a DIN 338-compliant jobber drill for use in any standard drill chuck or collet accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the 0.1000 to 0.1500-inch decimal inch size range.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel familiar with cutting tool setup. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. Solid carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to breakage from side loading, improper feed rates, or workpiece movement — ensure the workpiece is rigidly fixtured. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use and replace the drill at the first sign of edge degradation.
