The M.A. FORD. 22405110 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The bit measures 0.0511 inches (1.30 mm) in diameter with an overall length of 1.4961 inches (38.00 mm) and a flute length of 0.6299 inches (16.00 mm). It features a 118-degree facet point, a bright uncoated finish, and a right-hand cutting direction. The two-flute regular spiral design promotes efficient chip evacuation in general-purpose drilling applications. This bit is sold individually and is suited for use by machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians working with small-diameter holes.
This drill bit is built for general-purpose drilling in production and maintenance environments. It performs in steel and aluminum as well as non-ferrous alloys, consistent with ISO material codes K, M, N, and P. The straight cylindrical shank and 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio make it compatible with standard precision collet chucks and drill press spindles. The web-thinned, tapered web construction reduces thrust load at entry, which matters at this small diameter. It conforms to DIN 338 specification and is produced under ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturing standards.
Designed for general-purpose drilling in steel, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials per ISO material group codes K, M, N, and P. Straight cylindrical shank fits standard precision collet chucks and drill press spindles accepting 0.0511-inch shank tooling.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Power down and lock out all spindle equipment before mounting or removing tooling. Carbide is brittle at small diameters and can fracture under side load or interrupted cuts; use rigid setups and avoid flexing. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate for the workpiece material.
