The M.A. FORD 20521870T is a screw machine length drill bit engineered for precision drilling in demanding trade and production environments. Built from solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance needed when working through cast iron, stainless steel, steel, and non-ferrous metals. The bit measures 0.2188 inches (7/32 inch) in diameter with an overall length of 2.375 inches, making it suited for short-hole drilling in tight clearances. A 135-degree split point starts on contact without a center punch and reduces walking on hard surfaces. The slow spiral flute geometry is optimized for chip evacuation in the materials this bit is designed to cut.
This bit is intended for use in screw machine operations, CNC drilling, and production machining where hole accuracy and tool life are critical. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard drill chucks and collets without modification. Typical applications include drilling ferrous and non-ferrous components in manufacturing, metal fabrication, and maintenance repair operations. Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, de-energized state. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before beginning a drilling cycle. Confirm that cutting speeds and feeds are set to values appropriate for solid carbide tooling in the specific workpiece material being drilled, as solid carbide requires different parameters than high-speed steel. Do not use this bit on materials outside its rated workpiece range, as improper application will cause premature breakage.
