The M.A. FORD 20512600 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-precision drilling in demanding production and machining environments. It measures 0.126 inches (3.20 mm) in diameter with an overall length of 1.89 inches (48.00 mm) and features a 135-degree split point for accurate self-centering and reduced thrust on entry. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well-suited for applications where coating is not required or where base carbide performance is preferred. It carries a right-hand spiral flute design and a web-thinned point for improved chip evacuation. Machinists and toolroom professionals typically install this bit in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machines running production quantities.
This drill bit is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and steel workpieces. The screw machine length body, shorter than jobber-length bits, provides added rigidity and reduced deflection in close-tolerance boring operations. With a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a slow spiral flute type, it is engineered for controlled chip flow in materials that produce stringy or compacted chips. It fits into standard straight-shank collets and drill chucks accepting a 0.1260-inch shank diameter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting standard straight-shank collets and drill chucks sized for 0.1260-inch shank diameters; falls within the M.A. FORD Series 205 product family for screw machine length carbide drill bits in the 0.1000 to 0.1500 inch diameter range.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine fully powered down and spindle locked. This bit requires a collet or drill chuck rated for the 0.1260-inch straight cylindrical shank diameter; verify chuck runout tolerance before seating the tool to maintain hole accuracy. Consult the machine manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for solid carbide tooling in the target workpiece material before operation. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; apply external coolant or cutting fluid as required by the workpiece material and operation.
