The M.A. FORD 20429690 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit with a 19/64 inch (0.2969 inch decimal) diameter and a 118-degree faceted point angle. It is designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials including cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, and steel. The bright uncoated finish is suited for applications where coating is not required or where coolant-based cutting is the primary method. At 3-3/4 inches overall length with a 2-3/8 inch flute length, this bit fits standard drill chucks and CNC spindles. A tapered web with web thinning reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. Machinists, tool-and-die tradespeople, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary users of this bit.
This drill bit fits general-purpose production and maintenance drilling in industrial and commercial settings. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate chip clearance for moderate-depth holes in the primary workpiece materials listed: cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and steel. The straight-cylindrical shank allows it to seat in standard Jacobs-style chucks, collet holders, and CNC tool holders without modification. Right-hand spiral flutes pull chips upward and out of the hole during operation. It is not designed for coolant-through use.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or production drill bit for applications in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and steel. Fits any standard drill chuck or collet holder accepting a 19/64 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Part of M.A. FORD Series 204.
This bit is installed by machinists and industrial maintenance technicians in drill presses, lathes, or CNC machining centers. Ensure the spindle and any power source are fully de-energized and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before beginning a cut. This bit does not support coolant-through delivery; use external coolant or cutting fluid as required by the workpiece material.
