The M.A. FORD. 20425000A is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit in Letter E size (0.2500 inches), designed for high-performance drilling in demanding ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 118-degree, 4-facet point with web thinning for improved self-centering and reduced thrust on entry. The ALtima AlTiN proprietary coating delivers elevated heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron applications. With a 2-flute regular spiral flute design and a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, the bit provides efficient chip evacuation. Overall length is 3.25 inches, flute length is 2.0 inches, and the straight cylindrical shank diameter is 0.2500 inches. This is a right-hand cutting, general-purpose drill for production and maintenance machining environments.
The 20425000A is suited for general-purpose drilling in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron across a range of applications including fabrication shops, maintenance and repair operations, and production machining. Its solid carbide construction and AlTiN coating make it appropriate for use in CNC machining centers and manual drill presses where higher speeds and harder workpiece materials demand superior tool durability. The straight shank fits standard drill chucks and collet systems. This bit is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.2500-inch straight shank. Suitable for drilling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces. Part of the M.A. FORD. Series 204 drill line.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with cutting tool setup and speeds-and-feeds selection. Secure the shank fully in the drill chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits for the application. Do not exceed the recommended surface footage for the workpiece material and coating type, as overheating will degrade AlTiN coating performance. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; use external coolant or cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material when required.
