The M.A. FORD. 20412850 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit sized at No. 30 (0.1285 inches decimal) with a 118-degree faceted point angle. It is designed for general-purpose drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials and belongs to the Series 204 product line. The bit features a regular spiral flute, a web-thinned tip for easier entry, and a bright uncoated finish. With an overall length of 2.25 inches and a 1.25-inch flute length, it fits standard drill chucks via its straight-cylindrical shank. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance trades use this bit for production and repair drilling applications.
This bit is suited for drilling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and steel in both shop and field environments. The solid carbide construction supports higher cutting speeds than high-speed steel and holds edge geometry longer in abrasive or hard materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate chip evacuation in standard depth holes. It is a single-piece, right-hand-cut tool sold individually.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style jobber drill bit for use in standard drill chucks, collet systems, and CNC toolholders accepting a 0.1285-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or trade professionals familiar with drilling operations. Ensure the drill press, lathe, or CNC spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before changing or seating the bit. Solid carbide tooling is brittle and can fracture under side-load or interrupted cuts - avoid flex in the workpiece setup. Verify shank seating depth and runout before beginning a production run.
