The M.A. FORD 20403120A is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding trade and industrial applications. It features a 1/32 inch (0.0312 inch) diameter with a 118-degree four-facet point and an ALtima/Titanium Nitride (TiN) combination coating that reduces friction and extends tool life. The two-flute right-hand spiral design with web thinning promotes clean chip evacuation and accurate hole entry. With an overall length of 1.5 inches and a 3/8 inch flute length, this bit suits close-tolerance work in tight spaces. It is a general-purpose tool installed by machinists, HVAC fabricators, pipefitters, and electricians working with hard or abrasive materials.
This drill bit is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and steel, making it appropriate for a wide range of trade applications including metal fabrication, mechanical system installation, and precision hole drilling in structural and sheet components. This drill bit is installed and used by machinists, pipefitters, HVAC technicians, and electricians performing metal drilling tasks. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a properly sized drill chuck before operation. At this small diameter, use low feed pressure and appropriate RPM to avoid bit deflection or breakage. Solid carbide bits are brittle and should not be used in hand-held drills where lateral forces cannot be controlled.
