The M.A. FORD 20402920 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit sized at wire gauge 69 (0.0292 inches decimal) with a 118-degree faceted drill point. Built from solid carbide with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit delivers consistent dimensional accuracy and is web-thinned for improved chip evacuation and reduced entry thrust. The straight-cylindrical shank and regular spiral flute geometry make it compatible with standard drill chucks. With a diameter tolerance of -0.0005 to 0.0000 inches, it holds tight tolerances demanded in precision drilling applications. This is a general purpose, right-hand-cut bit from M.A. FORD Series 204, manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 certified quality standards.
Designed for general purpose drilling across a range of workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and steel. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration support controlled chip flow in both light production and maintenance drilling scenarios. Machinists, tool-and-die shops, and maintenance technicians working on precision assemblies will find this bit suitable for tight-tolerance hole-making in ferrous and non-ferrous stock. The 1-1/2 inch overall length is appropriate for shallow-to-moderate depth drilling in confined setups.
Designed as a general purpose OEM-style jobber length drill bit compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.0292 inch shank diameter. Suitable for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held pneumatic or electric drills configured for small-diameter carbide tooling.
This bit should be installed and operated by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck or collet before operation to prevent runout. Carbide is brittle and susceptible to chipping under lateral load or intermittent contact, so avoid side-loading and ensure the workpiece is properly fixtured. This tool does not support coolant-through delivery; apply external coolant or cutting fluid at the drill point as needed per shop practice.
