The M.A. FORD 20051560 is a solid carbide straight-flute die drill bit engineered for precision holemaking in demanding metalworking applications. It has a 33/64 inch (0.5156 inch) diameter, a 135-degree split point, and a web-thinned geometry that reduces entry force and improves chip evacuation. Overall length is 3.5 inches with a 1.125 inch flute length. The uncoated carbide construction offers rigidity and heat resistance suited for high-accuracy drilling where tight tolerances are required. This bit is sized and ground to DIN standards and is typically installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production and job-shop environments.
This die drill bit is intended for holemaking in cast iron, steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, austenitic stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, titanium, high-temperature alloys, hardened materials, ceramic, and glass. Its straight-flute design makes it well suited for short-chipping materials such as cast iron and certain non-ferrous metals. The Series 200 designation places it within M.A. FORD's standard solid carbide drill lineup, commonly used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and die-making operations where dimensional accuracy is critical.
Designed for use in M.A. FORD Series 200 solid carbide die drill applications. Suitable for cast iron, steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, austenitic stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, titanium, high-temperature alloys, hardened materials, ceramic, and glass workpieces as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully in a rigid, properly sized collet or drill chuck before operation and verify runout before cutting. Carbide tooling is brittle - avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without appropriate feed adjustments, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling in accordance with applicable machine guarding standards.
