The M.A. FORD. 20031500 is a solid carbide, straight-flute die drill bit engineered for precision holemaking in demanding materials. Built to Series 200 specifications, it features a 135-degree split point with web thinning to reduce thrust and improve centering on entry. The uncoated carbide construction delivers consistent performance in cast iron, steel, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metals. With a 0.3150-inch (8.00 mm) diameter and a compact 2.520-inch (64.00 mm) overall length, this bit is suited for die work, toolroom applications, and production drilling where tight tolerances are required. Right-hand cutting direction. No coolant-through capability.
The 20031500 is used in toolroom, die shop, and production machining environments where accurate, repeatable holes are needed in difficult-to-machine workpieces. Its solid carbide body handles cast iron, alloy steel, austenitic stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, titanium, hardened materials, ceramic, and glass. The straight-flute geometry makes it particularly effective in brittle materials where chip control and lateral stability matter. This bit is handled by machinists and toolmakers operating drill presses, CNC machining centers, and manual mills.
Designed for holemaking in cast iron, non-ferrous metal, stainless steel, steel, alloy steel, austenitic stainless steel, ceramic, glass, hardened materials, high-temperature alloys, and titanium. Suitable for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and manual milling machines that accept an 8.00 mm straight shank.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolmakers familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Secure the shank fully in a collet or drill chuck rated for the spindle speed and feed rate appropriate to the workpiece material and hole diameter. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid interrupted cuts or side loads that can cause chipping or fracture. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and remove the bit from service if chipping or wear is observed.
