The M.A. FORD 20003120 is a straight-flute die drill bit engineered for precision holemaking in demanding materials. Built from solid carbide with an uncoated bright finish, this bit features a 135-degree split point and web-thinned geometry that reduces entry force and improves centering accuracy. It measures 0.0312 inches (1/32 inch) in diameter with a 0.188-inch flute length and a 1.5-inch overall length. The 2-flute, right-hand cutting configuration is suited for tight-tolerance work in dies, molds, and small-component drilling applications. Licensed machinists, tool and die makers, and precision fabricators are the typical end users for this series.
This drill bit is designed for holemaking in cast iron, stainless steel, steel, aluminum, alloy tool steel, austenitic stainless steel, hardened steel, high-temperature alloys, low carbon steel, and medium carbon steel. The Series 200 construction conforms to DIN standards, making it appropriate for shops holding close dimensional tolerances. It is well suited to CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision hand drilling fixtures where small-diameter hole quality is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production drill bit for precision holemaking applications requiring a 1/32-inch solid carbide straight-flute bit conforming to DIN standards.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tool and die technicians familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Secure the shank firmly in a properly sized collet or drill chuck before operation, and verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits to avoid bit breakage at this diameter. Power down and de-energize all machine controls before changing tooling. Carbide bits are brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without appropriate feed rate adjustment, and contact with hardened surfaces during setup.
