The M.A. FORD 18075024NB is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding materials. Built to Series 180N specifications, it features a 3/4-inch diameter with a 0.03-inch corner radius and seven flutes in a super-close pitch configuration. The ALtima Blaze PVD coating is engineered to extend tool life when cutting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. With a 5-inch overall length and a 3-inch reach, this single-end mill is suited for extended-reach finishing passes where standard-length tools cannot access the workpiece. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard on this tool.
This end mill is intended for finishing applications on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium in CNC machining centers and toolholder setups. The 7-flute, super-close pitch geometry maximizes surface finish quality and material removal efficiency on harder workpiece materials. The extended reach capability at 3 inches makes it appropriate for deep-pocket and cavity finishing work commonly encountered in aerospace, die and mold, and precision parts manufacturing environments. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders.
Designed for use with standard CNC toolholders accepting a 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Not center-cutting; not suitable as a plunge or drill-entry tool.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder to the specified gauge-line depth and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Because this tool is not center-cutting, entry into a closed pocket requires a pre-drilled hole or ramping move programmed in the CAM system.
