The M.A. FORD 18062510B is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built on the Series 180 platform, this single-end mill features a 0.625 inch cutting diameter, 7 flutes, and a 38-degree helical flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The ALtima Blaze AlCrN coating provides thermal and oxidation resistance, making this tool well-suited for dry or semi-dry cutting operations. The micrograin carbide substrate delivers edge retention and wear resistance under heavy cutting loads. This end mill is used by machinists and tooling specialists in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is designed primarily for cutting steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys. The 38-degree helix angle and 7-flute configuration support higher feed rates and surface finish quality in finishing and semi-finishing operations on these materials. With a 1.25 inch length of cut and 3.5 inch overall length, this tool is suited for standard-depth peripheral and slot milling. The straight shank accepts standard end mill holders and collet chucks, making it compatible with most CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped for 0.625 inch shank tooling.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting 0.625 inch straight-shank end mills. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys per material codes P, M, and S.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the minimum recommended engagement depth in the holder to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout at the tool tip after installation before beginning any cutting operation.
