The M.A. FORD. 18037502B is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for finishing operations in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Built on the Series 180 platform, it features a 3/8-inch mill diameter, a 0.015-inch corner radius, and seven flutes ground to a super close pitch for smooth surface finishes and reduced chatter. The ALtima Blaze PVD coating provides elevated heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. This is a single-end, stub-length tool designed for use in a standard cylindrical toolholder.
This end mill is suited for precision finishing passes on steel and stainless steel components in CNC machining centers, die and mold work, and aerospace or industrial fabrication applications. The 7-flute, super close pitch configuration makes it particularly effective at lower chip loads where surface quality is the priority. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle setups. The stub length and 1/2-inch reach reduce deflection in close-clearance situations.
Designed for use with standard cylindrical toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, S).
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank in a clean, properly sized toolholder collet or end mill holder and torque to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout after installation before beginning a cut. Do not use this tool for plunge cutting, as it is non-centercutting.
