The M.A. FORD. 17725002A is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 1/4 inch diameter, a 0.015 inch corner radius, and a variable helix flute geometry that reduces chatter and improves surface finish across a range of cutting conditions. The AlTiN (ALtima) PVD coating provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting hard or abrasive workpiece materials. With four flutes and a centercutting design, this tool handles both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments will find this end mill suited to tight-tolerance work on ferrous and exotic alloy components.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank. It is rated for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The short flute length and 2 inch overall length make it well suited to applications requiring rigidity and reduced deflection, such as slotting, profiling, and contouring in harder materials where tool stability is critical.

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Verify toolholder runout and shank clamping torque according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications before cutting. Confirm speeds, feeds, and depth of cut are appropriate for the workpiece material and machine capability before initiating a cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear at regular intervals, as carbide tooling can fail abruptly when pushed beyond its rated parameters.
