The M.A. FORD. 17719601A is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. Built as a single-end, centercutting tool, it features a 5 mm cutting diameter, a 0.5 mm corner radius, and four flutes with a variable helix angle between 35 and 38 degrees. The AlTiN (ALtima) PVD coating supports elevated cutting temperatures and extended tool life in abrasive or hard materials. This tool is used by machinists and toolroom professionals on CNC machining centers and mills requiring both roughing and finishing capability in a single pass.
This end mill is suited for applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The 13 mm length of cut and 57 mm overall length make it appropriate for standard-depth pocketing, profiling, and contouring operations. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard toolholders. Its normal pitch and spiral flute geometry support consistent chip evacuation across its rated workpiece materials. It is a good fit for shops running mixed-material jobs that need a reliable general-purpose corner radius tool without switching between roughing and finishing end mills.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders. Compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills capable of accepting a 6 mm shank diameter. Suitable for workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, K, S).
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Secure the tool to the manufacturer-specified retention torque for the toolholder type in use. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cutting, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on a fine-radius tool of this diameter.
