The M.A. FORD. 17705900A is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding industrial and machining applications. With a 0.0591 inch (1.5 mm) mill diameter and a 0.1181 inch (3 mm) straight-cylindrical shank, this is a miniature end mill built for tight-tolerance work. It runs 4 flutes in a spiral configuration with both variable helix and variable index geometry, which helps reduce chatter and improve surface finish at the cutting edge. A TiAlN coating extends tool life when cutting harder and higher-temperature materials. It is center-cutting and right-hand cut with right-hand flute direction. Machinists and CNC operators working in tool rooms, job shops, or production environments will find this part suited for fine detail passes and small-feature milling.
This end mill is engineered for use across a broad range of workpiece materials. The primary workpiece material codes listed are H, K, M, P, and S, covering hardened materials, cast iron, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steels, and heat-resistant superalloys. The 0.1181 inch length of cut falls within the 0.1000 to 0.2000 inch length-of-cut range for this series. It is suited to CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter tooling is required. Series 177 from M.A. FORD. is a recognized micrograin carbide end mill line optimized for these material categories.
Designed for use across workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S as designated in the M.A. FORD. Series 177 product line. Fits standard tool holders and collets accepting a 0.1181 inch (3 mm) shank diameter with h6 tolerance.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder matched to the 0.1181 inch shank to prevent runout. Confirm tool projection and reach before beginning a cut, as this is a small-diameter tool susceptible to deflection under excessive side load. Follow shop safety protocols and machine manufacturer guidelines for tooling changes and RPM selection.
