The M.A. FORD 16923620 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a broad range of workpiece materials. It features a 0.2362 inch (6 mm) mill diameter with a matching 0.2362 inch straight-cylindrical shank, a 0.5118 inch (13 mm) length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation. Three flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration deliver a balance of rigidity and cutting performance suited to stub-length applications. The micrograin carbide substrate provides wear resistance in demanding cutting conditions. This end mill ships in a bright, uncoated finish and is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece.
The 16923620 is suited for milling operations on a wide range of materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and non-metallic materials, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its stub-length geometry makes it well suited for applications requiring maximum rigidity in short-reach setups, such as slot milling, peripheral milling, and shallow pocketing in machining centers and CNC mills. The straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard collet chucks and shrink-fit toolholders.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.2362 inch (6 mm) straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, mild steel, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and non-metallic materials. Part of M.A. FORD Series 169.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Verify collet or toolholder bore size matches the 0.2362 inch shank diameter before clamping. Follow the machine tool manufacturer's recommended runout and pull-out force specifications when setting tool projection length.
