The M.A. FORD 13875001R.005 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 3/4 inch mill diameter with a 0.005 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at part edges and extends tool life versus a sharp-corner geometry. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral configuration balances chip evacuation and surface finish in a single tool. With a 1 inch length of cut and 4 inch overall length on a straight cylindrical 3/4 inch shank, this is a stub-length end mill suited for rigid, close-tolerance setups. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry. The bright, uncoated finish makes it a direct choice for aluminum, copper, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials.
This end mill is built for both roughing and finishing passes in non-ferrous metal applications. The stub-length profile and solid carbide construction keep deflection low, making it appropriate for CNC machining centers and manual mills where dimensional accuracy is critical. The Series 138 designation from M.A. FORD covers general-purpose corner radius geometry end mills compatible with standard toolholders. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or changing the tool. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder to the recommended gauge-line depth and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout at the tip before beginning a cut; excessive runout on a tight-radius corner geometry will accelerate chipping.
