The M.A. FORD. 13862504 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision material removal in demanding machining applications. With a 0.625-inch mill diameter, a 1.625-inch length of cut, and a 36-degree helix angle, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and a clean, accurate finish. The three-flute, helical flute geometry balances chip clearance with cutting speed. At 4 inches overall length with a straight-cylindrical 0.625-inch shank, this is a single-end, centercutting tool suited for plunge, slot, and peripheral milling operations. It is uncoated and designed primarily for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials.
This end mill is appropriate for CNC machining centers, manual mills, and tool-and-die work where tight tolerances are required on non-ferrous materials such as aluminum, brass, copper, and similar alloys. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional spindle setups. The centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole, adding flexibility in typical shop-floor and production environments. It is sized for use in standard 5/8-inch collet or end mill holder setups.
Designed as a Series 138 solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 5/8-inch straight-cylindrical collet chucks or end mill holders on CNC and manual milling machines. Primary workpiece material designation is non-ferrous metal (material code N).
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine fully powered down and the spindle at a complete stop. Ensure the shank is fully seated and secured to the proper torque specification of the holder manufacturer before operation. Shank diameter is rated to h6 tolerance - verify collet or holder bore condition before clamping to avoid runout. This tool should be installed and adjusted by a qualified machinist familiar with milling operations and applicable shop safety protocols.
