The M.A. FORD. 13850004R.125 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It carries a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch) corner radius, and a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, making it well suited for contouring, profiling, and finishing operations where edge integrity and surface finish matter. The three-flute, right-hand spiral geometry supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. This is a single-end, center-cutting design with a straight cylindrical shank. It belongs to the M.A. FORD. Series 138 and ships in a bright, uncoated finish.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with compatible toolholders. Its primary workpiece material designation is non-ferrous metal, covering aluminum alloys, copper, brass, and similar materials. The regular-length geometry and 4 inch overall length suit standard vertical and horizontal milling setups. The center-cutting capability allows direct plunge entry where the operation requires it, reducing the need for pre-drilled lead-in holes. Machinists working in job shops, production facilities, or toolrooms will find this tool applicable to a broad range of non-ferrous milling tasks.
Designed for use with standard cylindrical-bore toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch straight shank. Primary workpiece material designation is non-ferrous metal (material code N).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and runout specifications. Ensure the shank is clean and fully seated in the toolholder collet or chuck before securing. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before engaging the workpiece, as excessive runout accelerates carbide wear and degrades corner radius accuracy. Follow all machine guarding and lockout procedures per shop safety standards before changing tooling.
