The M.A. FORD. 13847240R.079 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. It features a 12 mm (0.4724 inch) cutter diameter, a 2 mm (0.079 inch) corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a medium helix angle of 36 degrees. The uncoated bright finish suits applications where coating is unnecessary or undesirable. With a short length-of-cut geometry and centercutting capability, this tool handles both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup. It is part of the M.A. FORD. Series 138R line and is intended for use in standard toolholders.
This end mill is suited for machining non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar workpiece materials. The 26 mm length of cut, 12 mm straight cylindrical shank, and 84 mm overall length make it a compact, rigid option for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations on CNC machining centers and manual mills where controlled corner geometry is required. The corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and improves surface finish on inside radii. Normal pitch flute spacing supports chip evacuation in typical non-ferrous cutting conditions.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 12 mm straight cylindrical shank. Rated for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials (material code N). Part of the M.A. FORD. Series 138R corner radius end mill family.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and locked out per facility safety procedures. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth before torquing the retention mechanism. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use. Do not exceed the spindle speed and feed parameters established for the specific workpiece material and machine setup.
