The M.A. FORD 13825005 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. It features a 0.25-inch cutting diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 36-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The three-flute geometry balances chip clearance with rigidity, making it well suited for slotting, profiling, and finishing passes. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flutes are standard. This is a centercutting tool, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC programmers working with aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous materials will find this tool a reliable choice for production and prototype work.
The 13825005 belongs to M.A. FORD Series 138, a long-length end mill line with a 3-inch overall length and a straight cylindrical shank. The longer reach relative to a standard-length end mill makes it appropriate for deeper pockets, stepped features, and applications where clearance between the holder and workpiece is a concern. It is intended for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and similar rigid machine tool setups. Primary workpiece material classification is non-ferrous metal (Material Code N), covering alloys such as aluminum, brass, and copper. No chipbreaker geometry is present, and the tool carries no coating, leaving the carbide substrate exposed for applications where an uncoated finish is preferred or required.
Designed as an OEM-specification solid carbide end mill for use in standard 1/4-inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Compatible with applications targeting non-ferrous metals per Material Code N.
Installation and use of this cutting tool should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual milling operations. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool from its holder. Verify collet or holder bore size matches the 0.25-inch shank diameter and that runout is within acceptable limits before commencing a cut. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and machine rigidity; consult M.A. FORD published speeds and feeds data for Series 138 tooling.
