The M.A. FORD 13818755F is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision milling in non-ferrous metal applications. Part of the Series 138 line, it features a 0.1875 inch (3/16 inch) diameter with a matching 0.1875 inch straight-cylindrical shank, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 2.5 inch overall length. The three-flute, right-hand helical design runs a 36-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A titanium diboride coating reduces friction and extends tool life. Micrograin carbide construction provides the rigidity and wear resistance needed for tight-tolerance work in aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous materials. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool.
The 13818755F is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where non-ferrous metals are the primary workpiece material. The center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as conventional side milling and slotting operations. The compact 0.1875 inch diameter makes it well matched for detail work, narrow slots, and contour paths where larger tools cannot reach. The 36-degree helix and three-flute count balance chip load and surface finish in aluminum alloys and other soft non-ferrous materials. Designed for use in standard straight-bore collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) shank. Primary workpiece material designation is non-ferrous metal (material code N), including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar alloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank to the minimum recommended insertion depth specified by the tool holder manufacturer to maintain rigidity and prevent pullout. Verify runout at the tool tip with a dial indicator before beginning a production run, as carbide end mills at this diameter are sensitive to collet condition and holder concentricity.
