The M.A. FORD. 13818753R.030 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 3/16 inch diameter, a 0.030 inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a normal pitch and medium helix. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, making it suitable for both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 5/8 inch length of cut, this is a regular-length, single-end tool intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with compatible straight-shank toolholders. Machinists and toolroom professionals handle this type of end mill in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is optimized for non-ferrous materials including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar alloys. The bright uncoated finish suits applications where coating interaction with workpiece material is a concern or where re-sharpening is anticipated. The 3-flute geometry balances chip evacuation and surface finish, making it well-suited for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling in aluminum and other gummy non-ferrous materials. The straight cylindrical shank measures 3/16 inch in diameter and is compatible with standard collet-style and end mill toolholders.
Designed for use with standard collet and end mill toolholders accepting a 3/16 inch straight cylindrical shank. Intended for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials per M.A. FORD. Series 138 specifications.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom personnel. Before changing tooling, confirm the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state per shop lock-out tag-out procedures. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder collet and torque the collet nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to impact.
