The M.A. FORD. 13818752R.030 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) mill diameter, a 0.030 inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a medium helix angle. The bright, uncoated finish is suited for applications where coating would introduce dimensional concerns or where cutting fluid is used independently. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into the workpiece as well as perform peripheral and slot milling. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in CNC machining centers and manual mills using standard toolholders.
This end mill is intended for use on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials where sharp cutting edges and an uncoated carbide substrate provide optimal chip evacuation and surface finish. The regular-length geometry and straight cylindrical shank make it straightforward to chuck in collet-style or end mill holders. With a 1/2 inch length of cut and 2 inch overall length, it suits shallow-to-moderate depth milling passes in typical production and maintenance machining setups. The corner radius geometry reduces corner chipping and extends tool life compared to sharp-corner end mills in similar applications.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or drawbar is disengaged before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Confirm proper shank insertion depth and tighten the toolholder to the machine manufacturer's specified torque. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
