The M.A. FORD. 13818752F is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals and similar materials. It features a 3/16-inch diameter with a 1/2-inch length of cut and a 2-inch overall length. The three-flute, helical geometry with a 36-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A TiB2 (titanium diboride) coating is applied to enhance surface hardness and reduce built-up edge on non-ferrous workpieces. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge entry, and is built to Series 138 specifications. It is a single-end tool with a straight cylindrical shank sized at 3/16 inch.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, and copper in both light production and toolroom environments. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC machining centers and manual mills. The 3/16-inch diameter makes it well suited for slotting, profiling, and pocketing in smaller-scale features where tool clearance is limited. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on precision components will find this geometry appropriate for finish passes and moderate material removal on non-ferrous stock.
Designed as an OEM-style Series 138 end mill for use in standard 3/16-inch collets or tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines configured for right-hand rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tool-holding procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Use a collet or end mill holder rated for 3/16-inch shank diameter and torque the retention hardware to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to confirm proper seating before beginning a cut.
