The M.A. FORD 13811810R.039 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It carries a 3 mm (0.1181 inch) cutting diameter, a 1 mm (0.0390 inch) corner radius, and a 3-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a medium helix. The 8 mm length of cut and 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank make it well-suited for light profiling, slotting, and finishing passes where edge integrity and dimensional accuracy are critical. The bright, uncoated carbide substrate is optimized for non-ferrous workpiece materials including aluminum and copper alloys. This tool is single-end and centercutting, allowing plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral cutting.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with compatible toolholders accepting a 6 mm straight shank. Its primary application is the machining of non-ferrous metals in both roughing and finishing operations. The corner radius geometry reduces edge chipping and stress concentration at the tool corner, extending tool life on aluminum, brass, and similar materials. With a 52 mm overall length and regular-length flute classification, it fits standard toolholder setups without requiring extended-reach accessories.
Designed for use with toolholders accepting a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Intended for non-ferrous metal milling applications in CNC and manual machining setups. Series 138R from M.A. FORD.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the toolholder collet or chuck is clean and free of chips before seating the shank to the specified grip depth. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before cutting, as excessive runout accelerates corner wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Follow the machine manufacturer and toolholder manufacturer guidelines for clamping torque and stick-out length.
