The M.A. FORD 13231250 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. It runs a 4-flute configuration with a 30-degree helix angle and a right-hand cutting direction, making it well-suited for general-purpose material removal and finish passes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The uncoated carbide construction provides rigidity and heat resistance in demanding cutting conditions. With an extra long overall length of 3.25 inches and a length of cut of 1.375 inches, this mill handles deeper pockets and stepped features where a standard-length tool cannot reach. Chipbreaker geometry reduces cutting forces and helps with chip evacuation during aggressive passes.
This end mill fits typical CNC machining center and manual milling applications where a single tool must handle both stock removal and surface finishing. The 5/16-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard ER collets and end mill holders used in production shops, tool rooms, and job shops. It is a single-end tool, so the full shank length is available for gripping. The Series 132 designation places it in M.A. FORD's extra long length lineup, useful when machining deep cavities, tall workpiece features, or fixtures with obstructed access.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard end mill holders or ER collet chucks accepting a 5/16-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholding torque and runout guidelines. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is clean and free of chips before seating in the holder. Minimum stick-out beyond the holder should be used to maximize rigidity, particularly given the extra long length of this tool. Verify feed rate, spindle speed, and depth of cut against the workpiece material before beginning a cut.
