The M.A. FORD. 12150005 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining environments. It features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 0.06 inch corner radius, and a 2-flute spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry and full peripheral cutting. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this tool delivers the edge retention and rigidity required when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It runs uncoated and is classified as a roughing tool within M.A. FORD. Series 121.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where a controlled corner radius is needed to reduce stress concentrations at slot or pocket corners. The 1 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length make it a standard-reach option for general-purpose milling operations. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is securely clamped before inserting or removing the end mill. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tool change to confirm proper seating in the holder. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier feed and speed recommendations for the specific workpiece material being cut.
