The M.A. FORD. 12112511 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding material removal applications. Built to Series 121 specifications, it features a 1/8 inch mill diameter, a 0.015 inch corner radius, and a 30-degree helix angle. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry and enables both slot milling and peripheral cutting. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard. The micrograin carbide construction provides the edge retention and rigidity required when working steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other demanding workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for roughing operations across a wide range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its regular-length geometry and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard collet-style toolholders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The 3/8 inch length of cut and 1-1/2 inch overall length position it for work in shallow-to-moderate-depth pockets and slots where a compact, rigid tool is preferred over extended-reach configurations.
Designed for use with standard collet-style toolholders accepting a 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials: Steel, Stainless Steel, Cast Iron, Non-Ferrous Metal, Superalloys, Titanium, and Hard Material (material codes P, M, K, N, S, H).
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Seat the shank fully into the collet and torque the drawbar or collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chipping before each use, as carbide end mills are brittle and susceptible to damage from improper handling or storage.
