The M.A. FORD. 12112501 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a broad range of workpiece materials. With a 0.125 inch (1/8 inch) cutting diameter and a 0.500 inch length of cut, this two-flute tool delivers clean square shoulders and slot profiles in a compact, standard-length format. The 30-degree helical flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. At 1.5 inches overall length with a 0.125 inch straight cylindrical shank, it fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders used in CNC and manual milling setups. Solid carbide construction provides rigidity and wear resistance well beyond high-speed steel tooling. This is a centercutting tool, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece.
The 12112501 is a Series 121 uncoated solid carbide end mill suited for machining a wide variety of materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, heat-resistant alloys, steel, and superalloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its compact 1/8 inch diameter makes it well suited for fine detail work, narrow slot milling, and profiling operations on smaller workpieces or in confined features. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments install and use this tool in standard end mill holders and precision collet systems.

This tool should be installed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator using a properly sized collet or end mill holder that matches the 0.125 inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle and any workholding fixtures are secure and the machine is at zero RPM before tool changes. Apply appropriate cutting speeds and feed rates per the workpiece material; solid carbide tools are sensitive to runout and deflection, so verify holder concentricity before production runs. Do not exceed the rated length of cut to avoid tool deflection or breakage in deep-feature applications.
