The M.A. FORD. 12104000A is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide with an ALtima coating, this Series 121 tool runs at 0.0400 inches cutting diameter with a 0.12-inch length of cut and a 1.5-inch overall length. The 2-flute, 30-degree right-hand spiral design promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action at small diameters. Center-cutting geometry allows both plunge and peripheral milling. Machinists and toolroom operators working with tight-tolerance bores and contour work will find this tool suited to the task.
This end mill is designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter, high-precision cuts are required. Primary workpiece material codes indicate suitability across a broad range of materials including hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, general steels, and high-temperature alloys. The straight-cylindrical 0.125-inch shank fits standard collets and tool holders common to production and toolroom environments.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with standard collet systems accepting a 0.125-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, general steels, and high-temperature alloys.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Ensure the collet and tool holder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank to the correct insertion depth. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as small-diameter end mills are sensitive to even minor misalignment. Do not exceed the manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type.
