The M.A. FORD 11637500A is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide stock, it delivers the edge retention and rigidity needed for consistent cuts in difficult materials. The TiAlN coating extends tool life under high-heat conditions common in dry or semi-dry cutting. With a 3/8-inch cutting diameter, a 7/8-inch length of cut, and three spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle, this end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where a right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool is required. It handles a broad range of workpiece materials including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous alloys, titanium alloys, and high-temperature superalloys, as indicated by primary material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The straight cylindrical shank and regular length classification make it compatible with standard collet and end mill holder tooling setups. This tool is typically installed by machinists and CNC programmers working in production or job-shop environments.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical shank collets and end mill holders with a 3/8-inch bore. Suitable for machining workpiece material classes H, K, M, N, P, and S as classified by the manufacturer. Part of M.A. FORD Series 116.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's tooling specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention hardware to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a carbide tool.
