The M.A. FORD. 11612500R.020 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of workpiece materials. It features a 1/8 inch diameter with a 0.02 inch corner radius, providing a controlled blend between the cutting face and the flank to reduce stress concentrations at the cutting edge. The 3-flute geometry supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool, while the 30-degree medium helix promotes efficient chip evacuation. The bright, uncoated carbide surface suits applications where coating interactions with the workpiece material are a concern. This tool is installed and run by machinists and CNC tooling professionals working in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight-tolerance profiling, slotting, and contouring are required. The centercutting design allows plunge entry into the workpiece. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard toolholders. At 1-1/2 inches overall length with a 3/8 inch length of cut, this is a compact, rigid configuration well suited to shallow-pocket and profile work where deflection control matters.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders. Rated for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per the Series 116 material application specification.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool path program is verified before mounting. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before initiating the first cut, as runout on small-diameter carbide end mills accelerates edge wear and increases breakage risk.
