The M.A. FORD. 11187500A is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with an ALtima coating, this tool delivers extended tool life and thermal resistance in demanding cutting environments. It features a 0.875 inch cutting diameter, a 1.5 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length with a straight cylindrical shank. The 30-degree spiral helix and four right-hand flutes promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms will find this end mill suited to high-feed and finishing passes alike.
This end mill is appropriate for milling applications in both horizontal and vertical machining centers. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry in addition to peripheral and slot milling. The ALtima coating improves performance when cutting harder alloys, stainless steels, titanium, cast iron, and aluminum. The Series 111 designation indicates a standard-length configuration with no extended reach, making it well-suited to general-purpose workholding setups where tool deflection is a concern. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry are compatible with conventional CNC spindle rotation.
The 11187500A is rated for use with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, steel, and high-temperature alloys. It is a Series 111 standard-length square end mill compatible with 7/8 inch collets and end mill holders using straight cylindrical shanks.
This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in machine shop environments. Before mounting, ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out per facility safety procedures. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism according to the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for damage before each use, and never exceed the tool's rated length of cut during any single pass.
