The M.A. FORD. 11156250 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide, it delivers hardness and edge retention well beyond high-speed steel tooling. The 9/16-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 1-1/8-inch length of cut and a 3-1/2-inch overall length, making it a standard-reach tool suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. Four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and a smooth cutting action. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry into workpiece material. This tool is installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC and manual milling operations.
The 11156250 is rated for use across a broad range of workpiece material categories, including hardened materials, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, carbon and alloy steels, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard ER collets, end mill holders, or Weldon-style chucks with a 9/16-inch bore. The uncoated micrograin carbide substrate is well-suited for applications where cutting fluid is applied and coating is either unnecessary or where re-sharpening is anticipated.
Designed for use in standard 9/16-inch straight-bore tool holders including ER collet chucks and end mill holders. Rated for workpiece material categories H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated by M.A. FORD. Series 111 classification. No extended-reach, variable-helix, variable-index, or chipbreaker features are present.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's tooling and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before engaging the first cut.
