The M.A. FORD 11128120A is a 4-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations on a wide range of workpiece materials. It measures 0.2812 inches in diameter with a 0.75-inch length of cut and a 0.3125-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Overall length is 2.5 inches. The tool features a 30-degree spiral helix, right-hand cut and flute direction, and an ALtima coating for extended tool life under demanding cutting conditions. Micrograin carbide construction provides the rigidity and edge retention needed for tight-tolerance work in production and job-shop environments. This end mill is installed by machinists and CNC tooling specialists in metalworking and precision manufacturing applications.
The 11128120A is suited for milling operations across multiple material categories, including hardened materials, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous alloys, steel, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its standard length profile and centercutting geometry make it appropriate for slotting, profiling, and plunging operations on vertical machining centers and manual mills. It is a single-end tool and is not designed for extended-reach applications.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical shank toolholders accepting a 0.3125-inch (5/16) shank diameter. Suitable for machining materials across workpiece codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer for Series 111 end mills.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an e-stop or tool-change mode. Seat the shank fully in a collet or end mill holder of the matching 0.3125-inch bore and torque the drawbar or collet nut to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before mounting. Machining parameters such as feed rate, depth of cut, and spindle speed should be selected based on workpiece material, machine rigidity, and coolant availability.
