The M.A. FORD 11115620A is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a broad range of workpiece materials. It features a 0.1562 inch cutting diameter, a 0.5 inch length of cut, and a 0.1875 inch straight-cylindrical shank, with a 2 inch overall length. The four-flute, right-hand spiral configuration runs at a 30-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An ALtima coating provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability, extending tool life in demanding applications. This end mill is manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, delivering the hardness and edge retention required for tight-tolerance work. It is suited for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production and job-shop environments.
The 11115620A is intended for milling operations on a wide range of materials including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its compact 0.1562 inch diameter makes it well suited for slot milling, peripheral milling, and light profiling in tight geometries and small-part work. The centercutting design allows plunge entry where required. Standard length classification makes this a direct-fit replacement in most tool holders and collet chucks that accept a 3/16 inch shank.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 0.1875 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for workpiece materials classified under M.A. FORD material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, which include hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, plain carbon and alloy steels, and high-temperature alloys. Part of M.A. FORD Series 111.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for damage before use; do not run a chipped or worn tool.
