The M.A. FORD 11108500A is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.0850-inch cutting diameter and a 0.255-inch length of cut (LOC), this end mill is engineered for small-diameter, tight-tolerance work. The micrograin carbide construction provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for consistent performance in demanding materials. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The ALtima coating adds surface hardness and thermal resistance, extending tool life in abrasive or high-heat applications. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators working with milling machines and machining centers.
This end mill is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals, heat-resistant alloys, and composite materials, as indicated by its primary workpiece material codes: H, K, M, N, P, and S. The 0.125-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard ER collets and end mill holders commonly found in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. With a 1.5-inch overall length and standard-length designation, it is a practical choice for shallow-to-moderate-depth slot milling, profiling, and contouring operations where a small-diameter tool is required.
Part of the M.A. FORD Series 111 end mill line. Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with a 0.125-inch (1/8-inch) collet or end mill holder. Rated for workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S per supplier specifications.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and power is locked out before installing or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet or holder and torque the retention nut to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before use, as small-diameter carbide end mills are brittle and susceptible to breakage from side loading or improper runout.
