The M.A. FORD. 11101960 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding applications. With a 0.0196-inch (0.50 mm) cutting diameter and four spiral flutes, this micro end mill removes material cleanly in a wide range of workpiece materials. The right-hand cut, right-hand flute geometry combined with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. A length of cut of 0.0591 inches (1.50 mm) and a 1.5-inch overall length make this tool well suited to confined-geometry work where reach and rigidity both matter. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. This is a single-end, uncoated tool from M.A. FORD. Series 111.
This micro end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and precision milling machines where tight tolerances on small features are required. The solid carbide construction provides the stiffness needed to maintain accuracy at small diameters. The tool is rated for use across a broad range of materials including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, general steels, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. It is suited to toolrooms, production shops, and precision job shops running close-tolerance work on small-scale features such as slots, pockets, and contours.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with workpiece materials coded H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, general steels, and high-temperature alloys. Shank diameter is 3.00 mm.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank in a precision collet or end mill holder appropriate for the 3.00 mm shank diameter, and verify runout before commencing cuts. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle completely before changing tooling. At this diameter, avoid excessive overhang beyond the recommended grip length, as deflection can cause tool breakage.
