The M.A. FORD 11101560 is a square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for small-diameter work at 0.0156 inches (1/64 inch) cutting diameter. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With a 0.125-inch straight-cylindrical shank and 1.5-inch overall length, this tool is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances and fine detail work are required. The bright, uncoated finish is retained for applications where coating interaction with the workpiece material is a concern.
This end mill is appropriate for use in a variety of machining applications including slotting, profiling, and contouring in materials classified under workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S — covering hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, steel, and heat-resistant alloys. It is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry where needed. The 0.0312-inch length of cut makes it best suited for shallow passes and fine-feature work, typical in mold and die, aerospace component, and precision instrument machining environments. This is a single-end, regular-length configuration in the M.A. FORD Series 111.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.125-inch straight shank. Rated for workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer. Part of the M.A. FORD Series 111 regular-length end mill line.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine fully powered down and spindle locked. Secure the shank in a precision collet or end mill holder rated for the 0.125-inch shank diameter, ensuring proper seating depth. At 0.0156-inch diameter, this tool is extremely fragile — avoid side-loading beyond the tool's rated depth of cut and keep runout at the spindle nose to an absolute minimum. Tool setup and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling practices.
