The LYNDEX-NIKKEN 820-010 is a 10mm R8 collet machined from steel for use in Bridgeport-style and compatible R8-spindle milling machines. It accepts a 7/16-20 drawbar thread and holds a 10mm shank tool with a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0007 inches, making it a precision-grade workholding component suitable for production and toolroom environments. The R8 taper collet is the standard for knee mills and many benchtop vertical mills found in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and trade training programs. Installation and removal require a standard drawbar wrench and spindle brake or spindle lock. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians are the primary users of this component.
This collet is intended for use in vertical milling machines equipped with an R8 spindle bore, which is the dominant spindle standard in manual knee mills widely used in job shops, maintenance departments, and vocational machining programs. The 10mm collet size accommodates end mills, drill blanks, and other round-shank tooling ground to a 10mm diameter. The 7/16-20 drawbar thread engages the machine spindle drawbar to secure the collet under cutting load.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit collet for vertical milling machines with an R8 spindle bore and a 7/16-20 drawbar thread.
Installation and removal are performed by a machinist or qualified toolroom technician. Always power down and lock out the machine before inserting or removing the collet. Engage the spindle lock or brake before tightening or loosening the drawbar. Do not overtighten the drawbar, as excess force can damage the collet taper or the spindle bore.
