The LOCTITE 237104 is a two-part epoxy adhesive packaged in a 400 mL dual-component cartridge. It belongs to the E-40FL series and delivers a 40-minute working time, giving installers and technicians adequate open time for fitting, aligning, and clamping assemblies before the bond sets. The mixed adhesive cures to a gray finish and achieves full cure in 4 to 12 hours at room temperature. With a 1:1 mix ratio, the cartridge is designed for use with a standard dual-barrel dispensing gun, which meters both components simultaneously and eliminates manual mixing errors. The product carries CFIA approval, making it suitable for use in food-adjacent facility environments where adhesive certifications are required.
This epoxy is suited for structural bonding, repair, and assembly work across a wide range of trade applications including HVAC equipment mounting, plumbing fixture repairs, electrical enclosure assembly, and general maintenance in commercial and industrial facilities. The 400 mL cartridge volume is appropriate for moderate to high-volume bonding tasks where a small tube would be impractical. Its gray color blends with metal and concrete surfaces commonly found in mechanical and utility spaces.
Designed for bonding applications involving ceramic, glass, masonry, metal, plastic, rubber, and wood substrates. Compatible with standard dual-barrel 400 mL dispensing guns that accept 1:1 ratio cartridges.
Surface preparation is critical for epoxy adhesion — clean, dry, and abraded surfaces yield the strongest bonds. Dispense a small amount of mixed material to waste before applying to the workpiece to ensure both components are flowing evenly. Allow the assembly to remain undisturbed through the full 4 to 12 hour cure period before applying load. Work in adequately ventilated areas and follow the manufacturer safety data sheet for PPE requirements when handling uncured epoxy components.
